Ilie Bolojan, the Prime Minister, is set to be questioned as a witness in a corruption case involving a 1.5 million euro bribe for an audience with him. The case includes former PNL Vaslui president Mihai Barbu and businessman Fănel Bogos, who is under investigation for influence peddling. Barbu allegedly used his political influence to facilitate a meeting for Bogos with high-ranking officials to secure financial benefits. Cristina Trăilă, the Deputy Secretary General of the Romanian Government, is also implicated for complicity in the misuse of influence. The investigation began after a director from DSVSA Vaslui reported serious violations at Bogos's farms, leading to pressure for the director's dismissal.
