In 2022, services accounted for about 71% of global intermediate inputs, with developed economies at 78%. The growth of digital services is outpacing traditional service trade, with a 7.1% annual increase. Digital trade regulations are expanding, with 55% of trade agreements including e-commerce provisions. UNCTAD emphasizes the need for developing countries to enhance data, infrastructure, and participation in digital trade rule-making to improve competitiveness.
