Doar 26% dintre consumatorii români au o situaţie financiară confortabilă - PwC - Economica.net
Only 26% of Romanian consumers feel financially comfortable, a decline from the previous year, according to PwC's Voice of the Consumer 2026 study. This figure is below the Central and Eastern European average and significantly lower than the global average. While financial comfort has decreased in Romania, it has increased in CEE and globally. Additionally, 10.8% of Romanians report difficulties in paying monthly bills, up from 7% in 2025. Economic adjustments, tax increases, and inflation have impacted purchasing power, leading to more cautious consumer behavior. Health concerns are influencing spending, with many planning to buy more fresh produce and reduce processed foods. The main worry remains healthcare costs, highlighted by 69% of respondents. Romanians are adjusting their health choices to fit their budgets, seeking value beyond just low prices.
