Volkswagen is recalling over 2.8 million vehicles globally due to potential corrosion issues in the steering system, affecting VW and Audi brands. The recall includes around 2.16 million VW vehicles and nearly 700,000 Audis, with a significant number sold in Germany. The affected VW models are Golf, Tiguan, Touran, and Caddy, produced between 2013 and 2024, while the Audi model is Q3, manufactured from 2017 to 2024. Although no accidents have been reported, the company advises drivers to schedule repairs for stronger bolts. This recall adds to Volkswagen's challenges, including job cuts and competition from Chinese automakers in the electric vehicle market.
