In Romania, blood donors can access government bonds with interest rates exceeding 7%, attracting tens of thousands and raising about 2.8 billion lei. The "Blood for Bonds" program aims to address both the chronic blood deficit and the state's budgetary needs. Since early 2025, around 2.8 billion lei, equivalent to approximately 530 million euros, has been collected from individual investors.
