This decision follows an investigation initiated in February 2020 due to complaints from consumer protection organizations. Google is required to adjust its data processing systems to comply with GDPR within six months. The investigation focused on three specific features of Google that breached GDPR regulations. In response, Google stated that the case pertains to outdated rules and that they have since improved their data management practices. Additionally, Google is currently under investigation for three other matters by the DPC.
