Dumitru Chisăliță (AEI): România, țara cu rafinării care importă masiv carburanți. Factura eșecului energetic a ajuns la 2,52 miliarde de euro
In the first half of 2026, Romania's trade balance for petroleum products showed a significant deterioration, with imports exceeding exports by over 2.5 billion euros. This deficit is attributed to a combination of geopolitical crises and structural vulnerabilities within the Romanian economy. While crude oil imports decreased, refined products like gasoline and diesel saw a dramatic increase in deficit, highlighting a shift from surplus to significant losses in this sector. The country's refining capacity has been compromised due to the shutdown of key refineries and lack of a coherent industrial continuity plan. Romania's dependency on imported refined products has increased, leading to higher costs and economic challenges.
