ANAF has launched Operation FOCUS, a nationwide initiative to inspect 180 currency exchange offices across the country. The focus is on ensuring compliance with fiscal regulations and the proper use of electronic fiscal devices. This action follows a pilot project that revealed significant non-compliance among selected operators. The inspections aim to assess adherence to tax obligations and prevent behaviors that could undermine budget revenues and fair competition. Results from the pilot indicated a need for broader checks, leading to this coordinated effort. Any identified legal violations will be addressed according to the severity of the infractions, with final results to be shared post-inspection.
