Romania has the highest cervical cancer incidence in Europe, with 36 cases per 100,000 women, significantly above the EU average of 11.7. The mortality rate is also high at 17.2 per 100,000, compared to 5.3 in the EU. A roundtable at the Cluj Oncology Institute focused on improving access to screening and treatment for cervical cancer, particularly for marginalized women. The CLARA project aims to enhance cervical cancer screening through HPV testing for women aged 25 to 65, ensuring a comprehensive medical pathway from information to treatment.
