Turkey is set to begin drilling a complex oil well in the western Black Sea, as announced by Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar. The operation is expected to be challenging and time-consuming. This year, Turkey plans six drilling operations to discover new oil and gas reserves in the Black Sea. Additionally, Bayraktar highlighted rapid progress in collaboration with Canada on new nuclear power plants, while discussions are ongoing with China, Russia, and South Korea. The first nuclear reactor in Turkey is undergoing intensive testing and is expected to be operational soon, despite delays. Turkish Petroleum and ExxonMobil have signed a memorandum for exploration in the Black Sea and Mediterranean, aiming to reduce dependence on imported energy.
