România închide timp de opt luni legătura feroviară cu Bulgaria pentru modernizarea liniei București – Giurgiu. Arcada Company și Alstom lucrează la electrificarea conexiunii cu Bulgaria / Pregătiri pentru viteze mai mari

The railway connection between Romania and Bulgaria will be completely closed for over eight months in 2027 for modernization and electrification works on the Bucharest-Giurgiu line. From April 5 to December 13, 2027, passenger and freight trains will not cross the Danube Bridge between Giurgiu and Ruse, necessitating rerouting of international traffic. The project, valued at 2.108 billion lei, aims to upgrade 93.45 kilometers of railway, enhancing speed and safety with modern signaling systems. The closure is part of a broader initiative to improve the railway infrastructure, which is crucial for international freight transport to Greece and Turkey. The line's modernization is expected to be completed by September 2028, significantly increasing capacity and efficiency.
