Thousands of Norwegians gathered to pay their respects to King Harald V, who passed away at 89. A floral tribute formed outside the Royal Palace in Oslo. His funeral will be held in an official ceremony organized by the Royal House of Norway. Following his death, his son Haakon ascended the throne as King Haakon VIII.
