Mitul exploziei Hiroshima la Cobasna, demontat de SIS
The military depot in Cobasna, controlled by Russia, holds around 14,000 tons of mostly outdated ammunition. Only about 2,800 tons are actual explosives, according to a joint report by Moldova's SIS and AIM. They argue that potential incidents would cause limited damage, countering alarmist claims. SIS director Alexandru Musteața refuted the notion that an explosion could match the force of a nuclear bomb, clarifying that such comparisons are misleading. The report details the depot's layout and security measures, emphasizing that while it poses a risk, it is manageable and not an existential threat. Musteața called for the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Moldova, labeling their presence illegal and unjustified.
