Descoperire surprinzătoare: COVID-19 poate reactiva virusuri „adormite” în organism. Ce au găsit cercetătorii • Newsweek România
A recent study published in Nature reveals that nearly half of hospitalized COVID-19 patients showed signs of reactivation of dormant viruses. Researchers analyzed data from 1,154 patients, finding that 47.9% had genetic material from at least one other virus during the acute phase. Identified viruses included Epstein-Barr, cytomegalovirus, and herpes simplex. The study suggests that reactivation may be linked to the severity of COVID-19 and could play a role in long COVID symptoms. However, it does not establish a direct cause-and-effect relationship.
